Meaning Behind Turtle and Crane Amulet
In Japanese and wider East Asian tradition, the turtle (kame 亀) and the crane (tsuru 鶴) are revered symbols of longevity, wisdom, and good fortune. When depicted together, they express a blessing for a long life, lasting prosperity, and enduring happiness. The reversible design allows you to wear the side you're drawn to or rotate it daily, while the hollow circle on both sides represents the sun (taiyō 太陽)—being hollow, it means you, the wearer, become the sun, giving life to the artwork.
