Specialising in Onigawara —the iconic guardian tiles found on traditional Japanese rooftops—this craftsman brings ancient techniques into a new form. Each piece is carefully handmade, reflecting the spirit of honoured craftsmanship. Designed to hold a few drops of your favorite essential oils, the ceramic surface naturally absorbs and gently diffuses the scent. A quiet blend of craftsmanship and heritage.

1: Meaning Behind the Tachibana Kamon Design

The Tachibana, a type of wild citrus native to Japan, carries deep cultural significance. Often used in family crests (Kamon), it symbolises resilience, prosperity, and unbroken lineage. Unlike ordinary citrus, the Tachibana tree remains evergreen—enduring through the seasons, just as family ties and traditions do. In classical poetry and imperial symbolism, it represents longevity and graceful endurance.

2: Meaning Behind Cherry Blossom

The cherry blossom or Sakura is the Japanese national flower whose blossom indicates the start of spring. Representing optimism, renewal and transcendence, the delicate Sakura is often a tool for reflection among Japanese and reminds people of the beauty, privilege and significance in life. A fallen cherry blossom petal portrays loyal, courageous and noble samurai's souls that have been sacrificed in service to the King. It is a token of the appreciation for how short and wonderful life is and the importance of renewal. With such complex meanings attached to it, the cherry blossom is a symbol for mindfulness and presence.

3: Meaning Behind Daruma

The Daruma is a complex symbol in Japanese culture with a long history that makes it difficult to distinguish between legend and reality. Its design represents the monk Bodhidharma who is said to have lived between the 5th and 6th centuries CE. He began a quest of meditation for self-sacrifice and enlightenment by sitting towards a wall, staring and not blinking for nine years. The lack of limbs and wide eyes show Bodhidharma's immobility for this time; the facial hair imitates the shape of cranes and tortoises for longevity; the writing on the chest communicates luck and resilience. Daruma dolls are talismans of good fortune, far more significantly, of perseverance.

How to Use Your Aroma Plate
Add 5 to 7 drops of your favorite essential oil directly onto the plate. The scent will gently diffuse and last for up to 5 hours.

To Clean or Switch Scents
Soak the plate in hot water (around 60–70°C) for 30 to 45 minutes. After soaking, allow it to dry completely before adding a new scent.
