Bonji - Japanese Zodiac

In Japanese Esoteric Buddhism, each of the twelve zodiac animals is associated with a guardian Buddha or Bodhisattva, represented by a sacred seed syllable known as Bonji (梵字). These ancient Siddham characters have been used in Japan for over a thousand years as symbols of spiritual guidance and protection.

Each Bonji embodies the virtues of its guardian deity, such as wisdom, compassion, courage, and inner strength. Traditionally carried as personal amulets, they serve as meaningful reminders of the qualities we strive to cultivate throughout life.

This collection brings together the Japanese zodiac and these timeless Bonji symbols, transforming centuries of tradition into jewellery for everyday wear.
