Meaning Behind the Torii Pendant
The iconic red gateways usually stand at the entrance of or in a Shinto shrine. While the origin of Torii gates is unclear, their role is to landmark sacred ground. In Animism, the deeply rooted indigenous religion of Japan, the structures are said to embody the deities of the natural world.
