Daruma Aroma Plate
Crafted in collaboration with a Japanese artisan from Awaji Island, this aroma plate is steeped in over 400 years of tradition. Specialising in Onigawara —the iconic guardian tiles found on traditional Japanese rooftops—this craftsman brings ancient techniques into a new form. Each piece is carefully handmade, reflecting the spirit of honoured craftsmanship. Designed to hold a few drops of your favorite essential oils, the ceramic surface naturally absorbs and gently diffuses the scent. A quiet blend of craftsmanship and heritage.

Meaning Behind Daruma
The Daruma has a long history in Japan, and over time, legend and reality have blurred. Its design is based on a monk named Bodhidharma, who’s said to have meditated in complete stillness for nine years, staring at a wall without blinking. The round shape and lack of limbs reflect that intense dedication—being completely still for nearly a decade. The wide eyes? A nod to his unbroken focus. Even the beard has meaning, shaped to resemble cranes and tortoises, both traditional symbols of long life. You’ll often see lucky words painted on the chest too. But more than anything, the Daruma is a symbol of perseverance—of getting back up, no matter how many times life knocks you down.
How to Use Your Aroma Plate
Add 5 to 7 drops of your favorite essential oil directly onto the plate. The scent will gently diffuse and last for up to 5 hours.
To Clean or Switch Scents
Soak the plate in hot water (around 60–70°C) for 30 to 45 minutes. After soaking, allow it to dry completely before adding a new scent.
