Meaning Behind the Kintsugi Amulet
Takumi, our creator, envisioned creating a piece to honor and celebrate the support of his partner. Thus, the inspiration for the Kintsugi amulet was born. Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, serves as a profound metaphor for embracing flaws and imperfections. The golden lines on our piece symbolize this philosophy. Additionally, when turned to the side, it forms the character "人" (hito), meaning "person" in Japanese. In Japanese culture, it signifies that individuals cannot thrive alone; they need mutual support. This concept is depicted by the two lines supporting each other, essential for preventing collapse. Lastly, the signature rope pattern adorning the side of our piece represents the enduring bond between two individuals. We hope this amulet will serve as a meaningful gift for your loved ones, embodying strength and support.
